Welcome to your very own gapyear.com travel blog. Yup, it's yours to do with exactly as you please!

There's nothing to stop you getting stuck in straight away. Keep a record of your whole gap year, from scrimping and saving to coming home with a tan and a new wife, or just use it to make your mates jealous back home while you're on the road; it's up to you!

Print it out and keep it when you're done though and you've got a great memento of (hopefully!) one of the most amazing years of your life!

You can quickly and easily set up your own journal and use it to keep everyone up-to-date. If you're doing something interesting, or just writing really well, you might find we choose to feature your blog around the site and you can develop quite a little fan club. This is a great opportunity for any of you budding travel writers to get your writing out there in front of a huge audience. Useful Tips

Adding photos to your blog

Adding photos will soon be very easy, but it's a bit techie and fiddly at the moment. First you need to upload them to your user account (you have your own photo gallery as well you know!) then do this:

1. Find the unique address of the image you want to post. This is displayed on the image’s individual page within your galleries (just keep clicking on the picture until you can't click on it any more) and looks something like this: http://www.gapyear.com/photos/image1.jpg. Just highlight and copy that.

2. Find the point in your blog where you would like to insert the photo and type: [IMG][/IMG]

3. Paste the address of your photo in between those two sets of brackets so that you get something that looks like this:

[IMG]http://www.gapyear.com/photos/image1.jpg[/IMG]

Save and check your blog - it should now display your photo!
